My JOURNEY AS AN AESTHEtic nurse
Patients that have been treated by other injectors prior to seeing me, quickly notice that there is an actual art to it and a certain level of anatomical knowledge of the facial structures that are fundamental in providing optimal results.
I was born and raised in Benton, Arkansas. I have been a registered nurse since 2018, and I will graduate with my Nurse Practitioner degree in December of this year! I worked in the ICU while pursuing my dream of becoming an aesthetic nurse. That dream came to fruition in 2021. The beauty industry allows me to combine my creativity and artistry in a way that positively influences a person’s well-being. My goal is to enhance your natural beauty and make you feel and look like the best version of yourself. Before I was in this industry, the attributes I valued in my injector were authenticity, knowledge, a warm and welcoming personality, and an artistic eye. I strive to have all of these qualities for my patients.
My aesthetic career began in 2021 at a well-known aesthetic corporation. I attended numerous out-of-state trainings from experts in the field. I received certifications in dermal filler, neurotoxins, lasers, threads, and collagen stimulators. Within a year, I was promoted to Lead Nurse. I knew early on that I was meant to be in this field, and I dreamt of one day owning my own med spa. As I gained experience and confidence in this new role, my husband pointed out that my verbiage surrounding my dream had changed. My speech had shifted from “One day I WANT to own my own med spa” to “One day I AM going to own my own med spa.”
I figured that to be the safest injector for my patients, the first step would be to get my nurse practitioner degree and so I embarked on the journey to obtaining my master’s degree. I also realized that while I was thankful for the knowledge I acquired at this corporate med spa, I longed for broadening my skill set and the growth that I could cultivate at a privately owned med spa.
While gaining experience in a privately owned med spa setting and shadowing multiple experts in the field, word of mouth got out and I became known for my expertise in facial balancing and providing natural results. My patients’ continued trust and support allowed me to undergo exponential growth to the point of opening Kontour Aesthetics far before I had envisioned for myself.
What sets me apart in a field where there are numerous aesthetic injectors, is my ability to visualize the face on a deep, structural level. Patients that have been treated by other injectors prior to seeing me, quickly notice that there is an actual art to it and a certain level of anatomical knowledge of the facial structures that are fundamental in providing optimal results.
Patients continuously acknowledge the amount of time I spend to ensure that they understand every step of the process. I constantly get told “No one has ever taken the time to explain this to me” or “ I’ve never had an injector mark on my face and map it out. Usually, I’m in and out in 10 mins.”
I spend ample time with my patients because I am committed to doing my very best every time that you are in my chair.
That is also why I schedule follow-up appointments, to ensure that everything has settled appropriately. I have learned that this is also very comforting to patients.
While fillers and neurotoxins can significantly enhance your facial features for a youthful and natural appearance, it is also important to note that not everyone is an adequate candidate for these procedures. If a treatment that I don’t offer would be a better fit for your goals, I’ll gladly point you in the right direction. I am always transparent with my patients, and I always set realistic expectations. That is another key point in what differentiates me from other injectors.
